Special Session: Knowledge Integration Technologies and Applications

The 13th International Conference on KNOWLEDGE AND SYSTEMS ENGINEERING (KSE 2021)

November 10-12, 2021,
Bangkok, Thailand & Online

We are pleased to announce the session “Knowledge Integration Technologies and Applications” will be held as a part of KSE 2021 in Bangkok, Thailand.

Nowadays, knowledge integration is extensively studied in many areas of Computer Science, especially in Artificial Intelligence. The solutions to these problems are related to Database Systems when multiple databases need to be consolidated, related to Information Retrieval when multiple information sources need to be integrated, and also related to Multi-agent Systems when agents need to reach a consensus to coordinate their activities. Knowledge integration is also related to other application domains, including Multimedia Information Retrieval Systems and Medical Imaging Systems. Combining knowledge from different sources will produce benefits such as bringing in more knowledge, reaching consensus or reaching agreement. However, the trade-off of this combination is the cost for solving the uncertainty of knowledge, it is usually an NP-complete problem. Therefore, studying knowledge integration techniques and applications is very interesting, and it has great scientific and practical significance, especially for the Industrial Revolution 4.0.

The session focuses on developing knowledge integration techniques and their applications for intelligent systems. It will be conducted to: (i) develop a community of researchers working on knowledge integration and its applications; (ii) discuss the state of the art and future directions of knowledge integration; and (iii) bring collaboration opportunities among researchers.

Accepted papers are included in the proceedings of the conference, which are indexed in IEEE, DBLP, and other online digital libraries. Accepted papers will be selected to publish in some high-ranking journals in ISI/SCOPUS. Relevant topics include, but are not limited to:

  • Collective intelligence
  • Collective processing
  • Consensus computing
  • Cooperative systems and control
  • Group decision making
